Hello everyone! I am planning a group solo trip to Bali in mid-August, and I am looking for guidance on planning a cost-effective itinerary. We are a group of 7 people (3 couples and myself) and will be in Bali for ten days. We arrive in Bali on the 13th i.e. Sunday evening and will leave on the 24th i.e. Thursday morning. I wish to spend 3-4 days with the group and 6-7 days solo exploring the region.
Below is the first draft of the schedule

---|---|---|---|
MON 14 | SOLO | Nusa Lembongan | Take the morning ferry to Nusa Lembongan |
TUE 15 | SOLO | Nusa Ceningan | Go to Nusa Ceningan via the yellow bridge |
WED 16 | GROUP maybe | Nusa Penida | Explore west side |
THU 17 | GROUP | Nusa Penida | Explore the east side and take the ferry to Padang Bai or Gilly islands |
FRI 18 | GROUP maybe | Sideman OR Gilly Air Gilly Meno | Explore |
SAT 19 | GROUP maybe | Sideman OR Gilly Trawangan | Explore |
SUN 20 | GROUP | Ubud | Vegetate |
MON 21 | GROUP | Ubud | Day trip to Amed and Lovina |
TUE 22 | SOLO | Ubud | Day trip Canggu/ Seminyak |

Questions
- I'm on a tight budget ($65/ day for stay travel food activities, if any) so am on the fence about including Gilly Islands. However, given that I'm looking for a relaxed vibe and the fact that these islands encourage you to cycle and explore, I think I should visit them. Is it worth it?
- Alternatively, in a 10-day trip, does it make sense to include the Nusa Islands and Gilly Islands as well or should I pick either or none and simply explore the Bali mainland?
- On the first and last day, I'd like a place relatively closer to the airport which isn't busy (I hate crowds!) and hence have chosen Sanur. Are there better options?
- Since I hate crowds, is it worth making the day trip from Ubud to the busy region of Canggu/ Seminyak? Will avoid Kuta for sure.
- I heard that Ubud is getting crowded and hence chose Sidemen for visiting rice terraces and the temples in the region. But I'd still love to see Ubud and hence it's on the list. Any advice here or should stick to the plan?
- Does it make sense to head down south to Uluwatu and spend a day there or should I simply go back to Sanur as it might be relatively easier to get back to the airport?
Note on travel buddy
M30 from India and this is my first international trip. I'd love a person who can accept that fact well and some reservations which might come with it(hate crowds or loud anything). I'm curious by nature and open-minded, enjoy being solo and the space freedom that comes with this state. Can confidently ride a bike. Enjoy the water but can't swim confidently. Hence not interested in scuba diving, but would love to snorkel safely if possible. Not a must-do but a good-to-have on my list. Just here to explore Bali. Please do leave a message if you'd love to tag along and have some company.
