Completed the original games before, about 10 years ago, but kind of lackluster combat experience due to not fully knowing what I was doing. Such as seeing "This enemy is immune to your weapon" and not knowing why. Or seeing how my party pathetically swings and misses an enemy for a minute. I've been preparing for a full new run for over a year now, watching Davaeorn guides, reading the manual of both Bg1 and 2, reading forums, etc. I wanna make as best as possible warrior or warrior-mage character who's gonna land every hit, hit hard, and make the maximum number of attacks per round. I also am not against so-called "cheese" as long as it doesn't make use of an obvious bug or involve direct editing of game files, or using cheat codes - basically, I wanna stretch the game's potential to the limit without breaking it. I wanna have fun Fallout 1-style where I smack an enemy and they explode into bits. However, with the sea of information (and conflicting opinions) out there, it can be a bit confusing to start off on this min-maxing journey. I was very impressed with the knowledge of the game some people around here possess, so I ask for your advice.
My main questions are:
- As a fighter-mage, when should I Dual class? Should I do it in BG1 or BG2? The reason I want to fighter-mage is because I've heard it's one of the most OP classes in the game.
- Will I be able to switch to Berserker when I'm in BG2 (so as to become a Berserker-mage)?
- I wanna be a True Neutral. Will this alignment stop me from having the best fighting character?
- What stats (Strength, Constitution, etc.) should I have in BG1 starting out, from a fighter-mage min-maxing perspective?
- What weapons should I specialize in to maximize the aforementioned "speed, power, accuracy" effect? I was going for dual wielding since I've heard it's the best for maximizing APR and making use of some great off-hand weapons like Belm.
- What weapons should I look for in BG1, 2 and ToB in order to maximize my character's fighting potential?
- What Grand-masteries should I have (considering this is the original trilogy) in order to max APR
- Finally, somewhat confused about this:
I realize I'm probably asking too much, but who knows, maybe some kind people will be in the mood to help. Thanks.
