Cannot trigger a quest portion of the Mage stronghold.

Did the apprentice training and I read online thag now I need to wait to receinve a message. I have no idea how to do that ... Some guide said that it needs 2 days to trigger, I spent more than 3 times that time resting and moving from place to place trying to trigger it. I am getting random ambushes by generic bandits (same comp even ?)but no message .

Its getting rather tedious and I have no idea if it will even trigger. I have made the staff of power is this why the next phase is not starting?

Editing this to mention the solution was to wait a few more days. I am confused as to whybthe wiki says itbtajes 2 days when in reality it requires to wait about a week.
