I've had balanitis for over a month, likely from an allergic reaction to a condom, or shower gel. I was swab tested (came back negative for fungal or bacterial), and prescribed canesten which did obviously did nothing with the test results. I'm waiting on another appointment with a GP now, but the irritation and inflammation to my meatus has not improved at all.

I've been using coconut oil to ease the constant itching but doesn't seem like a permanent fix. The days i've stopped using it, the redness and itching soon returns. The strangest thing to me is I noticed a smell from the start of the balanitis. I have phimosis so i assumed it was the smegma, but have been able to clean it all from under my foreskin with the coconut oil, and yet the smell persists. Not sure why an allergic reaction would cause a smell but there. I also notice my meatus looks more inflamed, and the smell is stronger right after peeing.

This has all been driving me crazy and made me super depressed, due to the fact there's seems little help for non infection balanitis. Sometimes i wish it was a fungal infection because there seems to be far more treatment paths for that compared to a reaction to something like a chemical.
