I'm about halfway through a very long journey of independent study of the sacred texts of the major Abrahamic religions. I've acquired everything we currently know of that has ever been considered canonical, apocryphal, or pseudepigraphal in Judaism and Christianity (taking up a significant part of my bookshelf!!). Most of these are academic resources, chock full of essays and notes about the manuscripts. After that I plan on reading a study Quran and a book of Hadith with commentary.
The logical next step, I think, would be to read the books considered sacred in the Bahá’í Faith. I purchased a copy of The Hidden Words a few years ago, and while it was interesting it's clear that on its own it wouldn't be a totally comprehensive education on the Bahá’í Faith.
Is there a set of volumes that combine your sacred texts into a more easily-studied format? I adore the ornate faux leather cover of The Hidden Words and a quick search show around a dozen more in the same "series," if you will, but in lieu of purchasing every single one (which I would love to do, but it would be quite expensive!!) I was wondering if there any attempts to group them together into one or more compendiums or if they're kept separate as a matter of tradition? What would you recommend as the most important ones to read?
I apologize if I come off as rude or anything, I'm very interested in learning more about your religion!!
