Roommate hates when we're home but is paranoid when we leave
Post Body

I live with my partner (by choice) and recently my cousin (not by choice). Cousin is chronically unemployed while my partner and I both work 8 to 5s. She gets seriously mad if we're home during work hours, saying we're not "giving her space" and accusing us of forcing her out of the house....... if one of us stays home sick or has the audacity to come home for lunch. She gets even madder if it's just my partner and says she's uncomfortable with her being home without me, as if my partner is freeloading and not a tenant who pays rent and has lived here for over a year.

We tend to go out after work to run errands, visit my parents, hit up a bar, whatever. Cousin asked me to let her know if we won't be home after work so she knows she'll have time to herself in the house. Which is fine! But it's come to light that she spends all that time stewing in paranoia about us "plotting" or being "in cahoots" with my parents. Lately she harasses me over text every time we leave in some kind if ploy to force us to come home. It's obnoxious at best and terrifying at worst.

I know she's deeply mentally ill and there's little hope of her ever getting the help she needs - we're moving out as soon as we can. This unfortunately barely scratches the surface of everything she's putting us through. Just needed to throw this tiny piece out there to feel heard right now.
