How to deal with a control freak and overbearing roommate?
Post Body

Hi all,

Will make this short. I, 30M and renting out a room from another man's, 50'house. He has SO MANY rules. He clearly admitted he has OCD after I moved in. Also, I am on a lease.

I dry my dishes on the rack, if I forget to put them in the cupboard, he'll notify me "hey you forgot to put your dishes in the cupboard" This doesn't happen all the time, but random days I will forget...

I forgot to turn the downstairs light off when I went to bed for the first time. The next morning. "Hey you forgot to turn the light off at night"

The front door of the house has a gate. When I walked in he greeted me then said "hey when you walk in can you not let go of the gate, hold on to it, so it doesn't slam"

I forgot to open the blinds in the morning. "Hey you forgot to open the blinds this morning"

I'll stay in my room all the time. "Hey you know, you don't have to stay in the room all the time"

Everytime he's about to tell me something, I feel he's about to inform me on "one of the rules you broke"

At this point, it doesn't feel like I LIVE HERE. It feels like I WORK HERE. I can be pretty confrontational. How do I approach this situation that he is TOO MUCH.

I've developed some form of anxiety living here. Help lol
