Energy vampire of a roommate
Post Body

I (24f) and my roommate (30f) just had our first argument after about a year of living together. It was explosive, and ended with her threatening to punch me. After a couple days, we had a conversation about boundaries. We discussed not interacting with each others company, staying out of each others personal life, letting the other know when we have guests.

Today I walk out of my room and she has a guy over, theyā€™re standing in the living room (which both our rooms open into). My automatic reaction was to ignore them, especially in light of our talk about the boundaries. Since I didnā€™t say hello, she tells me thereā€™s no need to be rude. I know her to poke and fish for arguments, so I ignored her and went about my business.

Itā€™s been little things here and there that are mounting, and my go to is stonewalling. Iā€™m looking for another place, hopefully within 2 months but the energy at home is horrible. I canā€™t speak my mind because I actually think sheā€™s unstable. The snide comments I can only imagine are to make me stoop to her level which would be enough justification for her to lose her shit. This is actually how she attempted to justify threatening me, ā€œif youā€™re not understanding something then the next step is violenceā€. Iā€™m cool just acting as if she isnā€™t there, we do not have to speak at all nor do I need to speak to her company. I just am quickly getting tired of this.
