Roommate left house because my gender makes her parents feel unsafe.
Post Body

So I'm a guy(or cis-man to be more specific lol) and I recently moved into a house with two basement rooms. The landlords family was living upstairs but they moved out due to find a bigger place for their kids.

However I had another housemate living in the basement. A young athletic girl at University. I graduated last year and started working but couldn't find a place for weeks until I found this room. Ever since I moved in the girl only spent three nights in her room while staying elsewhere. My landlord told me her parents were angry because I am male and could threaten the safety of their daughter. The landlord has explained that she couldn't find a reliable female for months to move in that room hence why she chose me, especially that I don't drink and smoke. The girls parents are very "high standard" but don't know or pretend not to know their daughter is a frequent weed smoker.

I just find it borderline discriminatory that they did that. Considering I have a track record of a stable job, went through a financial and security background before obtaining this room.
