Background
Here with another Composite Techno racket, and this time it is one of their MiJ rackets. The P6J not only features CT's very high quality 4-axis, metal infused shaft, but is actually assembled in their Japanese factory. CT being one of less than a handful of brands that manufacture rackets in Japan. Let's check out this Power racket from their "6" series, designed fog intermediate to advanced players.
Handling
The P6J is extremely well balanced and is very agile despite being a head-heavy power racket. The hitting feel is fantastic - solid yet cushioned. It is not taxing to swing at all.
This is a racket that likes to be swung hard and benefits from full range of motion (long power release). More than just an attacking stick, the P6J allows easy and quick defensive work. The head feels reasonably hard and the shaft is just slightly stiff, with a flex point in the middle of the shaft, having a very whippy feel. It is user friendly and very satisfying to flex. A very well put-together racket, very high quality.
Control
The P6J offers good directionality but is less precise than stiffer rackets, a drawback of its easier to flex shaft. Net play is above average. Defensive returns are excellent. Switching between smashes, clears and drops is very easy.
Speed
The P6J swings fairly fast and has above average acceleration for a head-heavy power stick. Flat play and bullet-time reaction shots are effortless, playing as well as most high-quality even-balanced rackets.
Power
The P6J offers very easy access to power and good power transmission. Big hits are easy, courtesy of the heavier head. Smashes are fast and reasonably heavy, with great extension. Stick smash, countering and backhand all pack a punch. The P6J has a fair bit if oomph.
Overall
Wow, very impressed by Composite Techno's work on this P6J. This racket offers a rare and excellent combination of power, ease of use and agility, evidence of great design, materials and manufacturing. It also has a great feel and us fun to play with, courtesy of the very high quality shaft. This would be an excellent as a back court doubles stick, and I think most intermediate players would enjoy and play well with the P6J. It may, however, be a tad soft for some advanced players. Highly recommended!
