Is it too late to improve my gameplay? What are some ways I can start. I would rate myself as an amateur player. I've re-started my badminton journey again. I had left it a few years ago. Currently it's difficult to play a whole 1 hour sesh without tiring myself out. Advice?
I'm overwhelmed by the motivating responses within a few hours. I've always met great people and motivators through badminton. Thank you to everyone who is taking efforts to reply with alot of thought behind it! 🫡
Nope! Never too late to improve badminton gameplay. First, think how far you want to go in term of playing level..club? local tournament? Or national level?
Sounds like your first step is to improve conditioning. This is easy as you don’t need court time. Some endurance cardio plus resistance training, strengthening core muscles will help you feel less tired during badminton matches and will immediately help improve your gameplay.
After, join some group lessons. Train with a group similar level to you and get more consistent with technique while building confidence and strategies. Play with a wide variety of players either in clubs or community centres.
Eventually when you think you’ve peaked, find a private lessons coach for advance techniques and strategies.
Good luck. The road from amateur level to advance level is the most fun and rewarding
There’s no age cap on a national tournament where I’m from. It’s easy to play in the tournament, just pay and sign up. It’s difficult to win 😆
