How many times have you been told to "go back to law school" so you can learn "real" law?
Post Body

Two for me.

First time was when I explained that social networks like Reddit aren't "public forums" in the legal sense, so you're not entitled to First Amendment protection.

  • R2: A "public forum" for First Amendment purposes is government property that is open to the public. The First Amendment only prohibits Congress from restricting free speech. Through incorporation, the First Amendment also applies to States, but to my knowledge no court has ever applied it to Reddit.

Most recently, I was told that the CDC eviction moratorium means a tenant "doesn't have to pay rent" and can't be sued for a monetary judgment.

Edit: I didn't link the actual comments because I was obviously involved in these discussions and didn't want to violate Rule 3.
