As some of you may know, Roboczar announced a change to some of our rules in the fiat thread a few weeks ago. This post is to make sure everyone saw those changes and to give a little more detail in how the rules are going to be enforced.
Two R1's will be Required a Year for Fiat Privileges.: This replaces the current requirement of quarterly R1's. The mods hope that this measure will be easier to meet by users with busy schedules. R1's will expire on February 1st and July 1st.
End RVII: This has already happened in our moderation of the fiat thread. The mods however will still remove low effort political comments at their discretion.
The gold thread will return as a once a week thread: This has already happened. However we still encourage the use /r/askeconomics.
Allow three "high quality" answers in another REN sub to count for an R1 To encourage quality posts in /r/economics and /r/AskEconomics we will give fiat access to those users who can present three high quality comments written in the past six months. Because doing this on a continuous basis would create to much work for the mods we will post a one time thread at every R1 expiration date. The standard we will use to judge high quality comments will be higher then the standard we use to judge a sufficient R1.
