Let's collect all the bad analogies. Are humans horses? Is America a bingo player?
Post Body

Hello BadEcon. We all know that humans are horses. But did you know that:

Countries are automakers.

The planet is a village.

Countries are bingo players.

China is a mean robot.

Humans (and corporations) are tigers at the zoo.

Humans (and the government) are cages.

Free trade is disarmament.

The TTP is an arranged marriage.

Raising the minimum wage is like putting a hosue on stilts.

Australia is a Spider Monkey, America is an Elephant, the EU is a herd of Zebras, the global economy is a sinking ship, and the sea is fiat currency.

Economics is Freudian psychology.

Economics is the science of Chess.

The economy is a garden.

The economy is a giant brain.

The economy is a cake.

The economy is a heroin addict.

The economy is a giant household.

The economy is a tube of toothpaste.

The economy is a (Western U.S.) forest.

Quantitative easing is a bazooka.

People are satellites, markets are gravity, QE is like a satellite crashing toward Earth, and the Earth orbits the sun because the Fed prints money.

QE is heroin. Or maybe placebo heroin.

QE is aspirin. Or maybe heroin.

Fiat money is material karma.

Inequality is cholesterol.

Bankers are tuna. Investment bankers are sharks. -- Thanks, /u/WeaselsWithEasels

The economy is a pile of hamburgers that doubles in size every day. Bankers want to take all your hamburgers

The economy is an Irish bar and we're all unemployed alcoholics financing our habits with junk (drunk) bonds. -- Thanks, /u/Homeboy_Jesus

Humanity is 10 cows. The economy is a butcher and/or a dairyman, and the dairyman only wants 7 of them. Jobs are when you avoid getting butchered and get milked instead. -- Thanks, /u/potato1

Capitalism is a stepping stone and automation is the rising water. -- Thanks, u/potato1

Economics is just like electricity.

Monetary policy is like baking bread, possibly in a cyclic oven.

Oh yes, and don't forget to contribute. I'll add anything new you find to the list! (And, of course, give attribution.)
