It's been about 2 months since I last had an internet connection. I'm writing this down in a B.N.T.G. outpost on level 2 that Aerna said is called EL3A. I guess I need to explain who Aerna is since all my other logs got soaked getting here.

Aerna found me on my 3rd day wandering level 0. She has taught me how to fight, navigate, and find food here. She has been very kind to me these past 2 months, and I'm sure I would have died by now without her guidance. Though, Aerna's story doesn't exactly make me hopeful. Aerna noclipped here when she was an infant, and was luckily found, and raised by a women who died when Aerna was a young girl. Having grown up in the backrooms, she never kept track of her age, but from her looks she's about 60.

Aerna also has a reputation, or is maybe more of a legendary figure amongst some of the people of the backrooms. Aerna, having grown up in the backrooms has a keen sense for survival. She's encountered and defeated many entities, and has been a mercenary in the past. Now she mostly searches for items of interest, as long as she's promised something good in return for her work.

I've sort of become her apprentice, and in doing so, I've also been coming to accept the very real possibility that I will spend the rest of my life here.

Aerna's keen sense also allows her to do something very useful. As she describes it, every level has a specific ambience, and when you sense the ambience of a level you aren't in, that means there's a nearby surface that you can noclip through to get to that other level. I don't really understand it, but she's become famous for her ability to slip through the fingers of entities and people alike using this technique (despite how many times she says she's tried to noclip just to crash on the floor, but I guess people don't really remember that part).

She's done work for the B.N.T.G. in the past even though she isn't a member, and cashed in a favor for so we could stay at EL3A for a few nights to rest before our next adventure. We set out in the morning for a mission. Aerna says that my backpack is in the perfect worn condition to make a Worn Sack out of it, so tomorrow we start our mission to find a Mobile Vacuum Cleaner.
