So I (19f) will be in Thailand over the summer for a study abroad program with my school in Chiang Mai and Phrao. After the program ends, I hope to hang around Chiang Mai for a couple days, then head down to Bangkok for around a week. I've never travelled alone before, but I'm confident in myself. I've talked to a couple of people who have backpacked in Southeast Asia before, and they've said that people at hostels and such are super friendly. I'm not looking for anyone to make official plans with, but if I'm staying at a hostel in a dorm, how likely will I be to find people to do daily activities with, like going to the market, museums, temples, etc.? Do most people travel alone or with someone?
