$1000 double bets with 10k bankroll.

I have a curiosity question, why do more people not double down on streaks? My plan is to take 10k and bet 1k and double my bet until I hit three in a row. When I end up doing this I have 10 tries to hit 3 in a row. When I do hit 3 in a row I would make 7k. 1k - 2k. 2k - 4K. 4K - 8k. And if it’s a big streak 8k-16k. Why don’t more people try this method?
