hEDS: Up or down boot size
Post Body

I'm getting myself set up to start dancing and the last thing I need to get together are a pair of dance boots. I'm a size 9.5 US so I need to decide if I'm going to buy a size up or a size down.

I also have Hypermobile EDS so I have ankles and knees that roll and sprain easily if not supported well. It also means the bones in my foot dislocate and shift around in very painful ways when I have shoes that are too small.

I'm wondering if it makes sense to get: 1. Size 9 ankle boots and deal with the foot pain to have the extra support

  1. Size 10 ankle boots and wear thick socks with an ankle wrap underneath for the extra support

  2. Size 10 thigh boots with compression stockings underneath to add some support and minimize the effects of my POTS (a consequence of hEDS).

Let me know your thoughts!

Thank you ☺️

Thanks for the advice! Usually I avoid open toes because they pinch my wider feet really badly right at their widest part. I have a couple pairs for photo shoots and videos and they get uncomfortable fast (yay being trans). I'll definitely look at options for that though ☺️

I have a few, and plan on going to try some pairs. Just wanted to know what people thought since wearing something for 10 minutes in a store is way different than 6-8 hours straight 2 × a week. ☺️
