Hunger Strike

So he’s gone thru hunger strikes before.. from the advice I’ve gotten I’d changed his food prep: I started blanching his worms. He started eating better.

Recently he’s started up another strike and from other advice I’ve waited a bit in between feedings maybe he just wasn’t that hungry. He ate maybe half of a worm. And it wasn’t even a long worm.. maybe 3.5/4 inches? He ate the chunkier side of the worm I guess but still, he used to eat a whole worm. He still liked blood worms but I refuse to cave into giving him snackies every feeding, he should eat his normal food just fine.

Any advice? Maybe some advice for constipation? I’m thinking maybe he isn’t pooping enough and that’s why he’s not eating as much as he should.

He’s acting fine. Swimming. No gill curls.

Any behaviors I should watch out for that maybe I haven’t been looking for?

I included pictures because he doesn’t really seem skinny and he had gone a few days without feeding. I don’t have an exotic vet near me, I live in the boondocks. Also please ignore the tiny tank, I’m doing a water change and figured he’d much rather eat in a calm spot.

I’d appreciate any and all help! Thanks!
