Hi, I’m really worried about our axolotl. He’s been completely fine, acting normal, eating normal, but today he came out of his hide and one of his gills (the top one on the right side) is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than the other ones. It was completely fine two days ago. I attached some pictures. I tested the parameters and everything seems to be fine. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrates are around 5-10. He’s alone in the tank so theres no possibility of a fight. We had a blackout around a week ago, but the chiller and filter were only off for around 40 minutes and after that I tested the water and everything seemed to be fine then too. His gills are as fluffy as usual, one of his gills is just a lot shorter now and looks a bit weird. Does anybody know what the possible cause could be and did I do something wrong?
