How to migrate from Amazon Linux 1 to 2?

I have an AMI with some custom system configurations setup but it is on Amazon Linux 1. Is there an easy way to transfer over these configurations to Amazon Linux 2? I've only read that it can be done manually, which is unfortunate. I have a dockerized application which is easily transferrable, but there are security configurations on the host system that I would prefer not to redo from scratch.
