5th Day of the Fifth Moon
Road to Summerhall, Stormlands
Jason pulled back on his reins bring his horse to a trot. Behind him he could already hear the rest of his party catching up behind him. How many days had they been traveling now? It was a tough ride, a steady ride and the small band was making great time. Long ago they cast aside their furs and cloaks so they would not overheat in the southern sun. On the horizon there was still no sign of the walls of Summerhall but it would not be long. Taking a deep breath he longs for the sweet smell of the Wolfswood.
"Are we there yet? I feel like we will be in Dorne before we reach Summerhall." The sound of his brother's voice broke the silence around them. The Forrester party was ten in number. Jason and his siblings Myra and Ryon, along with Jason's squire and cousin Jojen and six of their finest men. Jason would not allow Ironrath to be left undefended in their absence. With the whispers of a wildling force gathering north of the wall his men needed to be there in their walls. That is also why this trip was necessary. Ironrath needed alliances both in men and coin. It was his job to get that during the tourney.
"I hope we get there soon," came the reply of Myra. "That way we can stop hearing Ryon's insufferable whining." She took off bow bouncing on her back with Ryon in pursuit. Turning to Jojen, Jason sees that he has a longing smile on his face. "Well go get them." With a snap of his reins Jojen raced off to catch up with his cousins. One of the Forrester men joined Jason and cleared his throat. "We should be to Summerhall in two days time my Lord." Jason nods and spurs his own horse ahead. And hopefully that will be the furthest I ever have to be from home.
