Swiss A330 biz?
Post Body

We are flying to France in November. We typically fly UA Polaris to Europe but cannot get decent awards IAH to NCE for our dates. They’re asking 295k miles and up. So, we grabbed Premium Economy IAH to MUC and Economy MUC to NCE for 50k. That’s a great deal, but it’s not Polaris. We haven’t flown Premium Plus before. It should be several steps up from Economy Plus that we flew years ago before getting spoiled in Polaris.

Anyway… I just spotted a deal on Swiss Biz for 80k. IAH to Montreal on AC economy, then Swiss biz to ZRH. Also Swiss Biz on to NCE. About 2.5 hours at both connecting points.

The price is great but is it worth the hassle of the extra leg? I don’t think UA P is going go be that bad. Plus, I prefer connecting in MUC over any other airport in Europe. It’s just easier.

Haven’t flown SWISS but reviews indicate their A330 biz is nothing special. Not much of an upgrade over LH’s poor excuse for Business Class. And far short of Austria’s wonderful biz class, which we have enjoyed.

So, it’s it worth the extra connection and at least two more hours of travel time to go with Swiss for 80k miles? Or should we stick with the United Premium Plus nonstop to MUC for 50k?

We COULD move up to Polaris on the flight we are already booked on but the 295k miles one way cost is obscene. (We DO have the miles in the bank but I hate to blow them on one flight! We used to go RT Polaris for 120k and the most we ever paid was about 250RT just two years ago.)

Thanks.
