I’m having visions of the past

Lately I’ve been having random flashes of the past. Mainly, it’s been dreams that I haven’t remembered since I had them, and they’ve been been popping up in my head. As well as other memories from childhood. I also heard the word “salum” in my mind when I was doing something. I looked it up, and it’s the Latin word for the sea in motion, or can even refer to the sea of thought. I’m not sure what any of this means, I was hoping someone could help me. Why am I having visions of the past? Why am I hearing words?
