So recently I’ve done some digging into condom fitting. I found out that for my girth(5.5 inch circumference at the widest point), I could try going up a size to have a better fit. My “nominal width” is somewhere between 2.33-2.48 inches (59-63cm), which matches with XL condoms. The thing is, my penis isn’t uniformly thick.

The proportions are exaggerated in this drawing so it makes the shape more clear, but this is more or less how I’m shaped. The thickest part of my penis is about 3/4 up the shaft, and I’m probably thinnest at the base. In the case of Trojan Magnum XL, the guide I followed said the nominal of 2.3 is the “base”, and I believe most Magnums flare out, which in theory would suit my shape.
The recommendations I’ve got say that a trojan magnum condom XL is a good fit for 5.5 girth, but I'm unsure if the nominal width fits for girth of 5.5 at the bottom, or at the top where it flares out.
I guess my question is, is it more important to fit a condom to your widest point, or to the thickness of the base of your penis?
