I don't understand why people are hating on Shadows' vocals so much.

I've only listened through Life is but a Dream once so far and the only time I recall thinking, "damn that sounds horrible", is at the beginning of We Love You. Maybe I just missed all the other times when he sounded bad, I dunno. People were complaining a lot about it when Nobody came out too and I thought he sounded good in that track. Do I just like shitty vocals or something?
