Hello-

This nice women’s 2006 xterra appears to have ran out of gas at end of my driveway. I don’t know if it actually ran out of gas as she said she just baght the car and isn’t sn’t sure if gas gauge works.

She said she put 3-5 gallons of gas in and tied starting it and wouldn’t start. I gave it a few tries but stopped as I think I could be making the problems worse.

From what I gathered she tried starting it for along time before putting more gas in it so my bet is she ran the lines and injectors bone dry, but I have no idea how to purge out the air and prime the pump up to the injectors.

Can I crack one of the injector lines and jump the fuel pump fuse? Any idea what fuse or will the fuel pump just run when the key is in run position but not turned over?

Any ideas or help would be great. Real nice older lady and don’t want to see her get stuck with a tow bill if not needed
