HELP!!! 2003 Expedition XLT making popping noises and dieing!!
Post Body

Edit: Sadly, my car still sucks. I was told it was the coils (a different one this time) and something with the fuel pump. He didn't elaborate on what exactly and I was in a hurry to a appointment so I didn't really ask. Anyways, it worked for about a week and then I took it a different shop to do tires\brakes. They have the car a once over and said everything inside looks good. Well, yesterday it broke down on the way back from my mom's cancer treatment. The engine dies in the middle of the highway 60 miles away from home. The shops don t open back up till monday , I had to pay $120 to tow back home and I've put over $1000 into it in repairs. I'm so tired of it at this point. Any more help is appreciated and I've taken your comments to the mechanic. Thanks to everyone who helped!

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition xlt v8 3.54 liter. We were driving the other day when the car made a loud popping sound ( backfired?) and the car died on us. We had it towed to a local mechanic and they replaced all the spark plugs and the #2 cool pack. It ran for one day and died again. Same popping noises and it wouldn't even start back up. Took back to the shop and they said it was the #7 coil pack now it's fixed. I drove to the store and it died again! Wouldn't start just made severe popping noises again and it felt like it couldn't get fuel, if that makes sense? After renting a car two different times, taking a cab for medical appt when it died and there was no rental available, and draining my money, I really need this to be fixed asap! Any help?
