French Canadian, I called the mental health department of my region to ask for ressources.
They gave me multiple free options that would need my doctor's aproval (which is another story...)
As well as a private institute they support, that would be relatively expensive
First red flag : it's called "Clinic for Autism and Asperger", as if Asperger wasn't a frowned upon term in the medical community and it was separate from the rest of Autism.
Second red flag : there's a description of how autism is a tragedy to parents, they make the distiction between autistic and "normal", and they say it has to be treated.
Third red flag : they straight up do ABA therapy
I left a message to the mental health department because I want to discuss the kind of fucked up shit they're promoting to people that can't be supported by their doctors...
UPDATE :
I was able to contact them again and explain pretty much everything I said here with direct quotes from their website and studies on the link between ABA and PTSD
They took notes and are going to share everything with the board of directors
Hopefully they will come to the conclusion that they need to cut support and report them to the authorities on mental health patient protection
