alright so to start off, i’ve been insanely nervous to see my psychiatrist because at our last visit we agreed to make our appointment longer so i could discuss all my symptoms and why i think i’m autistic. when i got this time we won’t over how my new meds have been working and i got prescribed ritalin (v nervous abt this lol) then right after she said bye and tried to push me out of her office. it was really hard for me but i decided to advocate for myself and mentioned we set a longer appt to talk about my symptoms and she didn’t remember which i was sad about but she still let me list about half of the things i wrote down. after some push back from her she finally agreed to get me a referral for an autism eval! i’m super happy about it, nervous though because she kept saying that she didn’t know of anywhere in the area that would take my insurance and then said there was a hospital that would but they only diagnose children, they don’t btw they diagnose adults too as i have someone i know who’s currently on the waiting list. ughhhh i hate feeling like people don’t know anything about their jobs sometimes, it’s possible they only recently started diagnosing adults though. anyway yeah i’m just super happy about it, now i gotta just wait and hope for the best :)
