I am a cosmetology student and I have autism. I am slightly dreading when I finish and get my job. The noise, the lights and having to be so social and talk and converse is something I find tiring day after day.
So I was wondering if I opened up an autistic friendly salon. Where if the music is too loud we can turn it down, if you don’t want to talk you just say so, you can pick the music, you can infodump. Would people go and support it?
I’ve heard that some autistic people want to get haircuts or do fun things with their hair but the salons are too overwhelming which is valid.
I would like to know your experiences, bad experiences you’ve had at salons, what you wish your stylist could/would do, or any overall things you wish a salon had to make you more comfortable
