If you google autism help or autism resources. It's all for the parents. In media, it's a big pity party for the parents. I understand in some cases it is genuinely hard for the parents but think about this:
If an autistic person sees all this rhetoric that their autism is burdening their parents then they feel like they have to be neurotypical. They can force themselves to mask all the time, or worse.
We need to have more media about parents not seeing autism as a negative thing to happen to them and more about embracing their autistic child, even through their issues.
