Is it an autism thing? Sometimes βeven if I haven't had much social contact throughout the dayβ I'll feel like my social battery is completely drained. Being talked to (unless it's concise and efficient) is like triggering. The more it goes on, the more I have to pay attention and listen and be "switched on" the more a fight/flight-like feeling rises and I can snap at people or be rude accidentally. It's a serious struggle to try to be patient and tolerant.
Does anyone else have this experience? I seem to have no control over it.
