How do you deal with (interpersonal/attraction related) rejection?

Post Body

I feel sometimes as though my self confidence and my image of how attractive I am is heavily dependent on being validated for that by other people.

Online dating can really amplify this “physical appearance based self concept” and has been written about in articles and covered in YouTube videos as contributing to lower self esteem in people who use these apps.

Do you find it difficult to deal with rejection?

If someone you’re attracted to rejects you, do you suddenly feel unattractive to everyone, possibly due to the “recency effect” whereby more recent memories are stronger and take precedence over older people ones?
