How to handle communication while nonverbal?
Post Body

Hi, I'm in the middle of a nv episode right now, and this happens from time to time, but now that I'm officially diagnosed with Autism (and adhd, among other things), I finally have an explanation for it. I texted my mom maybe about 20-30 minutes ago, saying that i was having "a funny brain moment" and that's why i wasn't speaking, but it doesn't seem like she's read it, and I'm going to need to communicate with her later with the inevitable "goodnight" when I go to bed, which I don't mind, but right now the thought of speaking is making me feel icky. How do y'all navigate your nonverbal episodes when you need to communicate with others? I don't know asl and neither does my mom, and she doesn't have text notifications on. Thank you in advance.
