(context: in the Netherlands it is common for children to get a diploma when they learn to tie their shoes.)
My autistic sister has fine motor skills issues and thus never learnt to tie her shoes as a child. She was devastated that the children around her all got their diploma, but she never got one.
Now, when she is twenty, she finally learned it and our mother made her a shoe lacing diploma.
I'm so very proud of her and wanted to share it with people who would understand (most people would probably find it weird, but I kind of want to tell everybody, because it makes me happy to see her accomplish this, so that's why I'm here).
