There’s a difference between being straight forward and hitting on someone isn’t there?

Also how do you be straight forward is there such a thing as love at first sight? If I don’t know if I like someone or not or if I’m going to like them should I just ignore them until I know for sure I like them? How do you fall in love with a stranger without getting to know them? Why can’t you start off friendly?
