But for Australia it’s too late, going to be too expensive (as we are starting from scratch) and will take longer than projected. As we are aware too, politicians lie and make lofty promises and break them all the time

As an Operations Engineer, working in Australias power system operator (AEMO). I can inform you all, that OP is a loon an doesn't know what he's talking about.

No, nuclear fission energy is not and will not be a good idea for any country, it is however a good way to bankrupt your energy economy (talking to you France and UK).

Folks, listen to the Engineers on this one if you listen to anyone at all, they're timid creatures but can talk confidently on this topic.. unfortunately alot of people out there make noise on topics they're not educated on, this is a good example.
