For those not in the know Mate internet has recently severed their partnership with their internet provider and had opted to quote "make the internet themselves"

This has resulted in massive outages, slow speeds (my 100/20 plan has averaged 3mb down over the last few days) and they no longer offer static IPs, now providing IPs from all over the globe making geoblocking and VPNs a nightmare. For instance look at their Facebook page and it's full of people saying they access Coles' website as Coles thinks they're in another country. Not to mention all the steaming services throwing up region blocked messages everywhere. And from personal experience I tried remoteing into work only to be told by IT that I had apparently moved to New York....

Basically don't fall for the blokey, Australiana "let's be mates" marketing. Their quality has dropped hard.
