Are there any early colonial/First Nations Accounts on beautiful natural sites that have since been destroyed?

Just to elaborate, we hear about amazing wonders such as the Hanging Gardens of Alexandria, the Library, Fountain of Youth etc. We hear about the beauties of these places even so long after theyโ€™ve disappeared/destroyed. (Not saying the fountain of youth is real per se). But are there any historical accounts from First Nations or early settlers where Australia had a really beautiful natural wonder that has since been destroyed? Would be interested to hear, read or see what they were like
