Personally I'd love to see it turned into a Diving Wreck much like is done already for retired military ships. The HMAS Tobruk is one recent example of this, and provides a much more dignified and beneficial end for a historic ship that both benefits the environment and turns it into a monument as over time it slowly turns into a living reef to be enjoyed for the decades to come. Deliberately scuttling a ship for this purpose is a safe and clean process which is much more dignified than seeing it beached and torn apart for scrap metal in a hazardous and undignified way.
