Traveling to Australia for the first time from August 14-30. I definitely plan on visiting Melbourne and Bali, however my friend is dead set on visiting Perth and doing West Coast day trips. Is Perth worth staying 5-6 days of my trip?

I am visiting Australia from August 14-30. I will be staying in Melbourne for a few days then looking to explore more of the country. My friend is really dead set on visiting the West Coast for a few days and then visiting Bali. My friend wants to spend 5/6 days in Perth and do day trips to Ratniss Island, Fremantle, and Bussleton. Is Perth worth the trip? I am all for Bali, however, I’m thinking Perth might be a waste of time as I have heard mixed reviews. I understand it’s pretty isolated out there and may eat a chunk out of my time traveling that could be better used visiting somewhere else. Is Perth worth the trip? What are some more impressive must see/do things in Australia? Are there better areas to visit around the area?
