I'm doing some intensive field work for a couple years. Does anyone have some all weather gear (jacket, pants, boots, etc.) recommendations?
Post Body

Hi guys, I moved down to Brisbane from Colorado in July to do my PhD. My thesis is on the Australian snowpack in the Snowy Mountains and the effect of Snow Gums on it. As such, I'm going to be doing ~2 months worth of field work in the Snowy Mountains where I will need to snowshoe roughly 5km to manage instrumentation sites and take manual snow measurements 2-3 times per week. I'll be doing this starting in July of this year and continuing next year as well.

I know the best places to get outdoor gear in the US because I've been an avid snowboarder for a long time, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of where to get good quality snow/rain gear here is Oz that can take some serious punishment. I don't want it failing while I'm up there because I'm sure the gear being sold in places like Jindabyne is super expensive in the winter.

I'm primarily looking for a rain jacket, snow jacket, pants for both conditions, and a good pair of waterproof hiking boots that are warm enough for the relatively mild winters up in Kosciuszko National Park.

My advisor really likes Macpac, but I'm open to anything.

Thanks in advance!

-Andrew
