So I will need to move to Darwin late next year (around December 2024 / January 2025) for work. I'm also going to be looking at places like Broome, Exmouth, and Kununurra as well as a couple other places for work.
At the moment I'm in Melbourne. I've lived here all my life (21M for reference) and am really excited to move and start my career of being a pilot.
After much thought I think instead of my original plan (Melbourne-Darwin (via Alice) - Broome) I want to do a mini road trip through WA as it's the only state I haven't been to and driving along the Nullarbor is a bucket list item of mine. I've been to Coober Pedy, Alice Springs and Uluru surrounding areas before so I wouldn't be missing out on much by not going along my original route (I am a bit sad on missing Coober Pedy tho, loved it there).
I'm just wondering, if I took 2-3 months to get to Darwin via WA, how much should I budget for? I don't have a 4x4 or anything like that and my car is pretty economical and just uses 91. I will be going solo after the drive to Perth as my dad really wants to come along for that.
Has anyone else done this trip or something similar?
Any help is much appreciated in advance
