It's been a year since we've spoken about one of my favorties, Fish & Chips! So, I thought I'd bring it up again. Garbo's up on North MoPac near the remains of Fry's still does excellent cod, but $22 is a but much for my wallet on a daily basis. And their "chips" are about as disappointingly American as French Fries get. The Tuesday special is still good at $12.
Does anyone have a good solid daily place for Fish & Chips? In my benevelont dictatorship, it would be that great, crunchy English beer batter, with thick cut, slightly greasy fries and a big bottle of malt vinegar on side! Yes, many love their mushy peas, but I can take or leave those.
I'd love to get some info from the group on where to get this around Austin in the Summer of 2022, especially on the northside? And for that matter, am I wrong about the price? Is $22 really what a decent chippery would charge these days? Thanks so much to everyone for anything you've got!
