Why is food & drink in Austin so expensive??

Just came back from a short vacation in Austin and I felt like the restaurants and bars there were WAY more pricey than what I was expecting. Went to a wide range of dives, decent spots and fine dining. Food was kind of above average overall and taco prices were way up there. Some of the bars had cocktails up to $22! Whats up with that ATX??
