Traveled to ATX for the first time this week and thanks to this group I hit a ton of spots

Terry Blacks- Weds afternoon 3:30ish. No line. Black Margarita, Brisket,ribs, beef rib. Everything was great, I wouldn’t get the beef rib again it was about 80% fat.( by the time I got to it on my plate I was stuffed)

Franklin- Thurs a.m. arrived at 8am approx 9th in line. Took some beers and made a fun time out of waiting in the line. Brisket ,Ribs ,Sausage. In my eyes this was worth the hype. Everything was outstanding.

KG BBQ- I’m a huge fan of lamb and the spin this place puts on bbq is crazy good. The lamb ribs were great, the pork ribs were also realllly good. The pomegranate tea is also a must.

Leroy and Lewis- we had brisket, cauliflower, sausage and Bacon rib with frito pie and papas- The sides were Phenomenal . I was not a fan of the brisket and bacon rib. Brisket was a little tougher and the bacon rib just wasn’t my thing. I would definitely go back to try something else . The staff and owners were the friendliest group I’ve encountered. The way everyone carries themselves in this place, they deserve the accolades and business 10x.

La Tunita 512- Birria Grilled cheese, Ramen ,and Tacos were absolutely off the charts and the prices were the best bang for your buck.

Bird Bird- The Queen Beak might have been the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.

The Salty- Sheesh these donuts were great. Brown butter donut is elite.

Bars:

Tiki-Tatsuya - This place is really cool. The decoration and show they put on for the drinks were phenomenal.

Poodies- Great dive bar. Went during the day for a quick beer.

Mean eyed cat- Probably my favorite bar. The mean marg ( very spicy) was outstanding.

Red headed stepchild - cool speakeasy. Drinks were good, bartender was friendly. We went early in the evening and had the place pretty much to ourselves.

Firehouse ( speakeasy)- Recommend by the bartender at Redheaded. Also great drinks and awesome vibe. Espresso martini and frozen margarita .Bartenders were friendly and recommended Small Victory

Small Victory: Great speakeasy. Had a painkiller while sitting at the bar. The attention to detail and organization behind the bar is outstanding. Also worth mentioning they had older bottle of Weller antique ( prior to the bottle redesign 7-8 years ago) at $17 for 2oz this might be one of the better deals in the city.

Also hit up sagebrush, Whitehorse , various Rainey street bars.

Favorite

Brisket- Franklin Rib- KG BBQ Lamb Side- Frito Pie Leroy and Lewis Drink- Painkiller Small Victory & Mean Marg @ Mean eyed cat.

We had an ABSOLUTE blast in this city. Can’t wait to come back .
