Were you trained to perform IV cannulation in medical school?

Saw someone in another thread say they were never given any training in peripheral IVs in medical school - bit shocking to me as we received plenty of training/encouragement to do them in the hospital and I thought this was universal across Australia. I figured not being trained to do them was a UK/US thing.

Would love to hear if anyone knows of an Australian/NZ med school that currently provides no IV training, too.

UK doctors are absolutely trained in Venepuncture and cannulation at med school
