recruitment agencies, are they worth going through?

so I'm in a bit of a rough spot mental health wise and I need to find a new job yesterday. problem is, job searching is just taking it all out of me and I'm struggling to really keep up with it all. I was suggested recruitment agencies a little while ago as a way to have a bit more of a hands off approach to job searching, which sounds really ideal since it'd give me a bit more space to focus on my mental health while I get through this period. thing is, I'm hearing all sorts of mixed messages on how useful they actually are and so I'm a bit lost on whether to spend my energy looking more into them or not.

also, if anyone has any suggestions for recruitment agencies for seeking work in software engineering that are actually good to work with then that would be much appreciated!
