Newb advice for adding more instrument inputs to my apogee ensemble 88

Hi, I just got an apogee ensemble 88 and I need to add more inputs for my synths. This is something completely new to me so I'm ignorant to what's the best way to do it. I know I would do it through ADAT but I'm not completely sure what that is and what device I should get to able to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
